Upcoming congresses

Dear Friends,

The beginning of 2009 finds us all in a time of financial uncertainty. While we have not experienced any significant changes in the congress and association world, we cannot ignore the fact that the world around is undergoing a shaky period and some type of influence might sooner or later impact our world as well. Kenes International fully comprehends its clients’ need for financial stability.

Being a pioneer and leader in the field of Professional Congress Organization gives with us the ability to provide our long term clients with sound financial backing as well as realistic long term strategies, thereby enabling our clients a continuing platform for promoting their purposes and ideas.

Kenes International is a very strong yet financially conservative entity. These qualities enabled us to end 2008 in flying colors and keep a very optimistic forecast for the years to come. This strength also enables us to provide ongoing support of our clients’ association and congress activities and as always - fulfillment of our obligation to them.

The changing world also requires a change in the focus of the traditional congress organizer. We believe that Kenes International is very much prepared to face future challenges, whether financial or operational.

In the past few years Kenes International has committed itself to develop new features that now join our traditional, yet dynamic services. You will find Kenes Media a valuable asset for both maintaining and strengthening the brand name of our client societies and congresses. In an ever more competitive world, this indispensable asset is an essential resource to our joint success. This type of strategic advantage will be essential to the repeating success of meetings in the future.

It is our strong belief that partnership will enable all of us to pass the down turning economy; evolving stronger than before, with a sound brand name and a solid product.

We wish all of you a successful 2009. In over forty years of existence, together with our clients we have successfully surpassed world crises. We are confident that this will be the case once again.

Best Wishes,

Spotlight on Seoul

Congress in Focus: 43rd Annual Meeting of the European Association for the Study of the Liver (EASL)Seoul is a city with a history that dates back millennia. For the last 600 years, the city has served as Korea’s capital.

The Republic of Korea is located between China and Japan. Its geopolitical position has enabled Korea to act as a bridge for cultural exchanges and trade and is generally accepted as the business hub of North East Asia.

In this regard, Seoul is an optimal location with Northeast Asia home to 25 percent of the earth's population and generates 22 percent of its GDP (forecasted to increase to 30 percent by 2020)

Seoul is a flourishing metropolis of over 11 million people. In recent decades, it has experienced dramatic transformations and growth resulting from Korea’s rapid industrialization and modernization.

Congress in Focus: 43rd Annual Meeting of the European Association for the Study of the Liver (EASL)Seoul boasts a wide array of transportation networks. Forty three cities with populations of a million or more are within a three-hour flight from Seoul (via Incheon International Airport).

The COEX (COnvention EXhibition) Center,  located next to the Korea World Trade Center, offers world class conference facilities combined with  an integrated shopping, culture, education, and leisure complex in the heart of Seoul. Kenes International is delighted to hold the 7th World Stroke Congress, organized by the World Stroke Organization (WSO) at the COEX in October 2010. More than 3,000 participants are expected to attend. www.kenes.com/stroke
