Dear Friends,

Summer is approaching fast and we are sure that many of you are planning your well deserved breaks. Here at Kenes International we are also looking forward to the summer and those congresses that are scheduled to take place in the coming months. Throughout the summer, Kenes International teams will be busy organizing congress in locations such as Prague, Jerusalem, London, Cairns and Madrid. We will at the same time be finalizing the establishment of our office in Singapore and launching a new partnership in Santiago de Chile. Both offices will provide the same level of service and professionalism as our European offices. Concurrent with our new enterprises, Kenes International will continue to work with our existing clients – promoting their congresses to increase attendance through our Congress Marketing & Research department; and strengthening our roles within the Pharmaceutical industry.

Whether it be summer or winter, spring or fall, all the teams at Kenes International work in unison to serve all our clients in the most optimal and caring way possible. As we like to say” the sun never sets at Kenes International”. Wishing you all an enjoyable summer vacation and look forward to seeing you all soon.

Congress Marketing & Research Department Sees Significant Increase in Participation Numbers at Congresses

Kenes International’s specialized department, Congress Marketing and Research (CMR) was set up 2 years ago to analyze congresses with the overall aim of increasing participation levels at all of Kenes International’s congresses. This team of professionals utilizes new promotional tools directed to enhance the visibility and presence of the congress on the web.

In addition, at all congresses, members of the CMR department conduct surveys to a sample group of participants with the aim of discovering specific information regarding their congress behavior, how they found out about the congress etc. Following the congress, the data is analyzed and decisions are made regarding how the marketing strategy can be improved and which aspects are working well.

The efforts of the CMR department have reaped great rewards as Kenes International has seen a significant rise in participation numbers in most of their congresses in the last 2 years.

Congress in Focus: 43rd Annual Meeting of the European Association for the Study of the Liver (EASL)

Congress in Focus: 43rd Annual Meeting of the European Association for the Study of the Liver (EASL)The 43rd Annual EASL Meeting took place this year in the fashionable city of Milan, Italy, April 23-27, 2008. EASL 2008 hosted a record number of participants- over 7,500, a 30% increase from the 2007 meeting. Though the Meeting is hosted by a European Society, participants from over 100 different countries arrived to Milan to learn about the latest developments in hepatology research and practice.
One of the most remembered sessions at the congress was the Late Breakers session, which took place on April 26, 2008.  This session,   introduced for the first time three years ago at the Meeting, provided participants with a first-look at ground breaking discoveries in liver related diseases. Of all the doctors submitting abstracts for this particular session, only the top 9 were chosen to present their findings, followed by the top 6 who were scheduled for posters. This session was one of the most well attended during the Meeting and led to an open discussion that was appreciated by all.

Spotlight on Santiago de Chile

ChileSantiago- Chile’s capital is located in the country's central valley at an elevation of 520m (1,700 ft). The towering Andes provide a dramatic backdrop for the sprawling metropolis of Santiago, which having experienced two decades of uninterrupted economic growth has become one of Latin America’s most modern cities. Santiago is a city of high rise architecture, fashionable shopping malls, a state-of-the-art transportation infrastructure as well as several cultural points of interest. Santiago is home to a number of excellent congress facilities including the Casa Piedra Convention Hall which is situated close to the international airport and the financial and commercial area, as well as Centro Cultural Estación Mapocho which is located in a former railroad station and is the largest facility in the country able to accommodate 14,000 people.
