| JUNE 2007 - ISSUE 2 | ||||||||||
|
The first half of 2007 was a challenging but exciting one for Kenes International. Multiple congresses were held simultaneously and the red suits of our hostesses could be seen across the globe from Abu Dhabi to Thessaloniki! As usual, our staff rose to the challenge and each congress was extremely successful. In parallel to the congresses keeping our staff busy, we are continuously striving to improve our corporate infrastructure. Currently, we have several projects underway including, among others, the implementation of a 3rd generation bar code registration system, participation at incentive & travel exhibitions to increase and strengthen our venue database, and wide-spread utilization of surveys to receive feedback from congress participants. We are excited for the second half of the year and will continue serving our clients with the utmost care!

Spotlight on Porto, PortugalIn May 2007, Porto was the host of the 25th Annual Meeting of the European Society for Paediatric Infectious Diseases. One of Europe’s oldest cities, Porto was a unique location for this exciting congress and did not disappoint participants with its breathtaking views, contemporary architecture and World Heritage sites.Located on the northwestern coast of Portugal, Porto is the regional capital and famous for the Port wine that was originally shipped from the area along the Douro River. Today Porto is a major financial and economic center of the northwestern quarter of the Iberian Peninsula and is well known for its enterprising spirit, characteristic culture, friendly people and local cuisine. Kenes International looks forward to returning to Porto when it will host the 6th International Congress on Autoimmunity on September 3-7, 2008.
